Description

Discover Sintra, Cascais and the Atlantic Coast in One Day

Explore Sintra and the Atlantic coast on a 10-hour day trip from Lisbon, combining Cascais, Cabo da Roca, Sintra's historic centre and flexible visit options for Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira. Choose a small-group experience of up to 8 guests or a private tour, with a professional guide accompanying you throughout the day.

When checking availability, choose the experience that best suits your plans: a no-ticket option with additional free time in Sintra, Pena Palace admission, Pena Park and Quinta da Regaleira, or the Full Experience with both Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira.

Discover Cascais and the Atlantic Coast

Travel from Lisbon to Cascais, where your guide introduces you to this historic seaside town before you have time to explore independently. Walk through the centre, enjoy the waterfront and discover how Cascais developed from a coastal town into a fashionable summer destination associated with the Portuguese royal family.

Continue along the coast to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe. During this guided scenic stop, take in the Atlantic cliffs and lighthouse, learn about the cape's geographical importance and enjoy free time for photographs and the surrounding views.

Choose Your Pena Palace Experience

In Sintra, your monument visits depend on the option selected when booking. If your option includes Pena Palace, your guide accompanies you through the included visitor route and provides historical context on one of the defining landmarks of Sintra's Romantic landscape. Palace interior access operates with a reserved time slot, and movement through the rooms follows the monument's official visitor route and timing rules.

If you select the Pena Park and Quinta da Regaleira option, explore Pena Park and the Palace terraces without entering the Palace interior. The Park forms an essential part of Ferdinand II's Romantic vision, combining gardens, woodland, lakes, viewpoints and architectural features across the Sintra hills.

Enjoy Free Time in Sintra

Spend time in Sintra's historic centre for lunch and independent sightseeing. Your guide will provide context, orientation and local tips before you explore the streets, shops and cafés at your own pace.

If you choose the no-ticket option, you will have additional free time in Sintra instead of visiting Pena Palace or Quinta da Regaleira, while still enjoying the Cascais and Cabo da Roca stops included in the day.

Explore Quinta da Regaleira

When included in your selected option, continue to Quinta da Regaleira, an estate known for its gardens, symbolic architecture, tunnels and the famous Initiation Well. Your guide provides historical and symbolic context throughout the areas where external guiding is permitted.

Under Quinta da Regaleira's visitor rules, external guides cannot conduct guided commentary inside Regaleira Palace or the Initiation Well. Access to these areas remains part of the regular visitor experience when open, with explanations provided before and after the restricted spaces.

A Full-Day Experience from Lisbon

Travel throughout the day in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle with a professional guide. Shared tours operate with up to 8 guests, while private options provide a more exclusive experience with pickup and drop-off in Lisbon.

The usual route connects Lisbon, Cascais, Cabo da Roca and Sintra before returning to the city. The order of visits may change due to traffic, monument time slots, weather or other operational conditions.
