From the moment you arrive, your friendly host will greet you with regional specialties and stories about Portuguese food culture.
The experience begins around the table, sampling artisanal cheeses, homemade bread, local jams, and "chouriço assado" roasted right before your eyes, paired with a glass of Portuguese wine. It’s the perfect introduction to the country’s culinary soul.
Then it’s your turn to cook! Learn about the history of salted cod in Portuguese cuisine before preparing one of its most iconic dishes: Pastéis de Bacalhau (codfish cakes). With guidance from your host, you’ll shape, season, and fry your own creations, accompanied by a classic arroz de tomate (tomato rice). The atmosphere is relaxed and interactive, with plenty of laughter, aromas, and glasses clinking along the way.
Once your dishes are ready, sit down to enjoy the fruits of your labor. You’ll savor every bite, and leave with the recipe so you can recreate the experience back home. To round things off, dessert is a freshly baked Pastel de Nata served with coffee—a sweet finish to a day of discovery.

- All customers with a reservation must check in 10 minutes prior to the tour start.
- A minimum number of 2 people applies.
- As per standard policy, full refund available up to 24 hours before the start of the activity.

- Intoxicated individuals are not allowed to participate.
- The recipe does not contain ingredients with lactose.

Our Chef will give you a historical overview of cod’s importance in Portugal.
Hands-on Cooking: Pastéis de Bacalhau
Each group of two will have their own working station and follow a step-by-step demonstration. You'll prepare your own codfish cakes!
Hands-on Cooking: Tomato Rice
Help our Chef cook a tomato rice to go as side dish for the meal you're going to enjoy in the end.
Tasting & Social Time
Have a sit with the group and our Chef and enjoy freshly made codfish cakes with tomato rice. This is a really traditional portuguese meal, common at family gatherings.
