Level Arena Lisbon: BattleKart, Immersive Games and What to Expect
Level Arena is an immersive gaming venue in Alverca, near Lisbon, where real movement, competition and technology come together in one indoor space.
The main attraction is BattleKart, which combines electric karting with augmented reality on a floor that becomes a full size video game. But Level Arena is much more than karting. You can compete in a live game show at Gamer, take on a mission against the clock in Bomb Squad, play on an interactive wall and continue the competition with arcade and bar games in the Level Lounge.
It is designed primarily for groups: friends looking for something different to do around Lisbon, families during selected hours, birthday groups and companies planning team activities.
Level Arena is part of the Boost Experiences Group, the group behind Boost Portugal. In this guide, we explain what each game is like, who can participate, current prices, how long to allow and how to get there from Lisbon.

What Is Level Arena?
Level Arena takes familiar types of entertainment and turns them into physical, multiplayer experiences.
Instead of controlling a kart on a screen, you drive one. Instead of watching a game show, you become a contestant. Instead of solving a mission from a sofa, your team moves through the room while the clock keeps running.
The venue brings several international gaming concepts together in one location near Lisbon, with four core experiences:
- BattleKart: electric karting with augmented reality
- Bomb Squad: a timed team mission combining movement, logic and communication
- Gamer: a live game show with physical and mental challenges
- The Level Wall: interactive wall games controlled through movement, touch and coordination
The Level Lounge adds food, drinks, arcade machines, darts, pinball, table football and air hockey, so the experience does not have to end when the booked game finishes.
BattleKart: Augmented Reality Karting Near Lisbon
BattleKart is the experience most likely to make Level Arena stand out from a traditional indoor activity centre.
You drive a real 100% electric kart, but the circuit itself is digitally projected onto the floor. Tracks, bonuses and obstacles change according to the selected game mode.
The technology tracks each kart in real time. Digital events can therefore affect the physical kart. If another player hits you with a virtual attack, for example, the system can react directly through the kart.
This creates something closer to entering a multiplayer video game than driving around a conventional fixed karting circuit.
BattleKart includes different game formats, including competitive racing and modes inspired by familiar games such as Snake. The objective changes between modes, so being the fastest driver is not always enough.
Sessions can be booked for approximately 15 or 30 minutes.

Who can play BattleKart?
Players must currently be at least 10 years old and 1.45 metres tall. Children under 12 need an adult present throughout the session. The maximum permitted weight is 114 kg, pregnant guests cannot participate and closed, flat footwear is required.
You can read the full current restrictions and game information on the official BattleKart page.
Gamer: Become a Contestant in a Live Game Show
Gamer is designed for people who have ever watched a television game show and thought they could do better.
The experience combines 19 different challenges covering areas such as memory, general knowledge, reflexes, aim, coordination and movement.
Players face one another in a sequence of short challenges while the scores continue to change. Because the games test different abilities, the same person is unlikely to dominate every round.
Gamer can handle groups from 2 up to 50 players and normally takes between approximately 75 and 105 minutes depending on the group and format.
There is no strict minimum age listed on the current game page. As a practical guide, Level recommends participants are around 140 cm tall and can read fluently, which normally means approximately 11 years old or above.

Bomb Squad: A Mission Against the Clock
Bomb Squad is the most mission focused experience at Level Arena.
Teams of 2 to 6 enter a challenge where communication, logic, speed and coordination matter. The clock starts and the group has to work through the mission before time runs out.
There are two different scenarios: Paint Bomb and Foam Bomb. The detailed challenges stay secret so that new players do not know what is waiting inside.
A session lasts around 60 minutes.
The minimum age is currently 7. Participants under 15 must play with an adult unless at least one member of the team is aged 15 or over. Photography and filming are not permitted inside the mission rooms, helping to keep the puzzles secret for future players.
See the official Bomb Squad information before booking.

The Level Wall: Interactive Games Where Your Body Is the Controller
The Level Wall turns a large interactive surface into the game itself.
Current game options include Angry Birds, football and dance, mixing accuracy, rhythm, movement and competition.
Unlike BattleKart, this is a short format activity that works particularly well between longer experiences. Sessions included in a Level last around 15 minutes, while private 30 minute sessions are also available.
The current Level Wall page lists no specific age or height restriction, although the venue's general rules for minors still apply.
You can check the current games and session options on the Level Wall page.

Who Is Level Arena Best For?
Groups of friends
This is probably the most natural fit. Most experiences work through scores, rankings, teams or direct competition, so the entertainment comes as much from the people you bring as from the technology itself.
Families
Families can visit during the periods when the venue welcomes minors, but each experience has its own participation rules. At present, Level welcomes all ages at weekends until 17:00. Outside those periods, the venue operates for adults.
Always check the current rules for the specific activities before bringing younger participants.
Birthdays
Level Arena offers dedicated birthday formats, including junior options for participants aged 7 to 17 during selected weekend periods.
Corporate groups and team building
Gamer and Bomb Squad are particularly suited to teams because communication, coordination and group decision making affect the result.
The venue can also handle much larger private and corporate events. Boost Events lists Level Arena for corporate programmes and large group formats with several gaming zones. Explore Level Arena for corporate events.
Is Level Arena a Good Indoor Activity for a Rainy Day in Lisbon?
Yes. One of Level Arena's practical advantages is that the core experience takes place indoors.
Lisbon has many museums, restaurants and cultural options for rainy weather, but fewer indoor experiences built around active group competition. Level Arena fills that gap with karting, physical games, team missions and social gaming in the same venue.
It is particularly useful when you are travelling with a group that wants something more active than a museum or shopping centre, or when outdoor plans have been affected by poor weather.
The only important consideration is location. Level Arena is in Alverca rather than Lisbon's historic centre, so you should include transport time in your plans.

Where Is Level Arena and How Do You Get There From Lisbon?
Level Arena is located at Rua Eusébio da Silva Ferreira 1, 2615-153 Alverca do Ribatejo, in the eastern part of Greater Lisbon.
By car
Driving is the easiest option for many groups. Alverca has direct access from the A1 and connections with the main roads around Greater Lisbon.
Level Arena has 50 free parking spaces on site.
By train
Take a CP train on the Azambuja Line to Alverca station.
The arena is approximately 2 kilometres from the station. From there, the official visitor information estimates around 25 minutes on foot or approximately 4 to 6 minutes by taxi.
By local bus from Alverca station
Bus 2301, Circular Alverca, provides a local connection. Routes 2303 and 2532 may also be useful depending on the journey.
Check the official Level Arena directions before travelling for the latest transport and opening information.
What to Know Before You Book
Book online rather than relying on availability when you arrive. The attractions run in timed sessions and popular periods can fill up.
Arrive with enough time to complete check in. Level currently warns that arriving 15 minutes or more after the booked time can invalidate a reservation.
For BattleKart, wear closed, flat shoes and check the height, age and weight requirements before booking.
If you are travelling with children, check both the general venue access times for minors and the rules for the specific experience you want to play.
If your group has 11 or more people, Level recommends contacting the team rather than using the standard small group booking process.
Is Level Arena Worth the Trip From Central Lisbon?
If you are looking specifically for monuments, historic neighbourhoods or traditional Lisbon culture, Level Arena should not replace a day exploring the city.
It serves a different purpose.
Level Arena is most worthwhile when your group wants an active indoor experience, a competitive evening, something different after several days of sightseeing, a birthday activity or a social plan that does not depend on the weather.
BattleKart also gives the venue a distinctive reason to make the journey because augmented reality karting is not simply another conventional karting track.
For travellers building a broader mix of experiences in Portugal, you can also explore the immersive experiences available through Boost Portugal.
